Phantasia

Posted in Exhibitions by ps31 on September 29, 2010

Phantasia (Oct 2nd – 17th, 2010) is an exploration of “fantasy” in terms of ideas and as a vocabulary in the work of four artists – Scharjeel Sarfaraz, Zia Haider, Samina Islam and Babar Moghul.  For Samina the realm of fantasy is a stylistic choice wherein she weaves narratives of her own experiences.  For Babar, fantasy is linked with the idea of teleportation and reaching towards a futuristic or past milieu.  Zia employs illustrative, fantastic vocabulary to take on social issues of his time while Scharjeel mirrors what he feels are the dreams and fantasies of aspiring socialites.
